"It's only a flesh wound"

I am really impressed with the bokeh in this photo. It was only taken with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. The exact exposure was 1/640th f/2.8 ISO 400 at 30mm. Edited with Lightroom

BTW I've got 4 new posts of MY blog! Check them out and leave some comments please :) :) http://timnewmanphotography.blogspot.com/ (Emily scores big points cause she's already commented)

I was going to get my 5d mark II this Wed. but Portland's local camera store is out of stock on them, BH is back ordered so I'm very annoyed about that :/ I'm probably going to have to wait a week, or so.

Play Ball

Im really really sorry I haven't been posting lately. D: That was extremely lame of me.
I haven't been taking photos regularly either which is probably not a good thing...
BUT recently I went to a baseball game (Indians vs Twins) and actually took some pictures. (woah! :P)
And I promise I will try to start posting again. :]

Eastbound and traveling.

Hey

Sorry for not posting lately. I starting redesigning my website and found myself knee deep in actionscript coding and not doing too much else. So suffice to say I had no pictures to post. And I forgot. But do visit. I also decided to start posting to a blog of my own (I suppose I am growing up)

Moving on to greener pastures:

There was an event at a homeless shelter in Tallahassee, and the FSU football team stopped by for a spell.

A ballad

_MG_7155ed

ISO 1600 | 105mm | f/4.5 | 1/10sec

One of the few bats that live in the woods behind our house.
This particular one made an erratic maneuver in the shape of a large swoop downwards.
His aim was straight towards me.
We both missed each other, but I believe it was for the best.
For I don't think we'd have made a good couple.

True story.

Nick...

I too got a job doing photos. The deal is I am contracted to Portland Parks & Recreation to photograph the Washington Park Summer Concerts Festival. I've been doing sound (stage hands work, set up tare down, load in, load out) there for the last four years with my dad, even though I'm contracted to the sound company. So this year I'm doing both! I do the sound job, set up and what not, then during the concert I'm covering the event with my lens(es)! It's a sweet deal, and this was a photo during the Portland Festival Symphony (hints the black and white uniform)

Oh, hey almost forgot, I'm suppose to have my first official shoot this week.

When or where I've no idea. She says she'll call me at some point this week.
I'm not going to get paid, but I figure I'll gain experience, contacts, and maybe some decent shots.

Last Saturday was Scott Kelby's World Wide Photowalk.
It was okay, I still have the same issues I had with it last year. It has nothing to do with Scott Kelby or his project, but everything to do with with the locals here. I could wax on about other depressing things, but I won't for fear for boring you all.

Any-who the pictures above are the ones I decided to enter into the contest.
The first is of a Friday's build into the Aquarium, and the second photo is that of the latter.

These are from my Mt. St. Helens trip last May 08. I found them sitting on my hard drive and edited them last night :)
