Oh, and she not mad. In case your wondering.
This was done with my new light. It's way awesome.
But it'll be way more awesome when the flash trigger comes.

I also just realized I left a ton of space above her head.
And that I do that with all my portraits.
Hmm.

Ps. This is call the Rembrandt lighting technique.

Bus stops and lollipops

Hello all

I apologize for the late nature of this, things have been rather
hectic and I forgot.  So it goes.  Anywhom, these are from a recent baseball game I shot.
Picture numero uno
Nikon d300 with Sigma 70-210 f2.8

210mm f 2.8 ISO 320
shutter: 1/5000

I ran down behind the catcher when they were practicing in between innings to get this shot.
Picture dos
Nikon d300 with Sigma 70-210 f2.8
95mm f2.8 ISO 640
shutter: 1/5000

I must've sat staring at the base for 10 minutes before anything exciting happened at it.  Very much worth it, though.

Skateboards

Nikon D80 with Sigma 50mm 1.4
50mm
f/1.4
1/100
iso 400

Saturday night

I had to move some lights around to make it this bright.  In other places in the park I was shooting 1/60 f/1.4 iso 1000.

Converted to BW.  Highlights compressed to make it look skatepark-ier.   Local contrast added using unsharp mask, a trick I learned from Emily.
