Halloween school dance.
This dance was on Friday, over the weekend I printed 90 4x6s of my favorite photos and will sell them for $1 each to the kids at my school. It work last year with the Winter Formal, so I figure I'd try to make a little extra cash ;)

Nick...

I too got a job doing photos. The deal is I am contracted to Portland Parks & Recreation to photograph the Washington Park Summer Concerts Festival. I've been doing sound (stage hands work, set up tare down, load in, load out) there for the last four years with my dad, even though I'm contracted to the sound company. So this year I'm doing both! I do the sound job, set up and what not, then during the concert I'm covering the event with my lens(es)! It's a sweet deal, and this was a photo during the Portland Festival Symphony (hints the black and white uniform)

Me unedited
Alright-y then I was tagged by PG a while ago to do an unedited self-portrait. The rules were:
As soon as you learn you have been tagged to play, you take a photo right away, no cleaning up, no primping, no preening. Just grab the camera and shoot. No cleaning up the photo in post either.
Now in my defense I didn't do it right away because I had just had surgery that day, and was totally knocked up on oxycodone.
Then I just forgot. :)
So here it is at long last, an unedited photo! This is me Monday about half way through my 3 hour hike. Scary I know!
So now I'm suppose to tag some people, and I decided to tag all you guys. :)
I also thought, to make this a little bit more interesting, that you should also include a few of favorite photographer under the following:
At least 1 favorite photographer in the field of photography in which you plan to pursue.
For me that's product/studio and real estate photography. And my favorite photographer in the product/studio is Jim Talkington you can see him here and here. And for real estate it's got to be Scott Hargis his website and his flickr.
At least 1 favorite photographer who mainly used film.
My favorite film photographers are, Walker Evans, Larry Towell, Julius Shulman and of course Ansel Adams.

Random shots taken with my (new) Canon 70-200mm

Last week, I bought my first canon L series lens. I did my home work on the 70-200mm I bought. I ended up getting the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM! It works so well, and it is substantially lighter in weight then the daddy in the 70-200mm family (70-200mm f/2.8 L IS) It is a little shaky at 200mm with out IS, but for $1150 more for the Image Stabilizer feature, I think I'll save my money and just be really steady. This lens handles lens flair really well, and having a constant aperture is really really nice. I have one other lens that is constant aperture and love it! I can't wait to do a real portrait shoot with it, I got it mainly for that reason and to use outdoors.

Protest

I love the contrast between these two.

Technically this is pt3.
Parts 1,2
Canon 350, 28-105mm
focal: varying mm's
aperture: f11
shutter: 1/320 sec
ISO: 400
This was part of the Tax Day Tea Parties being held all over the country on April 15.
I'm going to optimistic and say there were about 600 people there, and about 50 of them were photographers. No joke.

This shot looks strange to me, but I like it. I'm not quite sure what the camera focused on. This was just an extra random thing I shot as I was out today.
I also wanted to point out, In case you didn't know, I've taken a break from posting on my main blog for a while.
But I just wanted tell you that, you can still get your daily dose of Brian on my twitter...yeah.
