Eastbound and traveling.

Hey

Sorry for not posting lately. I starting redesigning my website and found myself knee deep in actionscript coding and not doing too much else. So suffice to say I had no pictures to post. And I forgot. But do visit. I also decided to start posting to a blog of my own (I suppose I am growing up)

Moving on to greener pastures:

There was an event at a homeless shelter in Tallahassee, and the FSU football team stopped by for a spell.

A ballad

_MG_7155ed

ISO 1600 | 105mm | f/4.5 | 1/10sec

One of the few bats that live in the woods behind our house.
This particular one made an erratic maneuver in the shape of a large swoop downwards.
His aim was straight towards me.
We both missed each other, but I believe it was for the best.
For I don't think we'd have made a good couple.

True story.

Nick...

I too got a job doing photos. The deal is I am contracted to Portland Parks & Recreation to photograph the Washington Park Summer Concerts Festival. I've been doing sound (stage hands work, set up tare down, load in, load out) there for the last four years with my dad, even though I'm contracted to the sound company. So this year I'm doing both! I do the sound job, set up and what not, then during the concert I'm covering the event with my lens(es)! It's a sweet deal, and this was a photo during the Portland Festival Symphony (hints the black and white uniform)

Oh, hey almost forgot, I'm suppose to have my first official shoot this week.

When or where I've no idea. She says she'll call me at some point this week.
I'm not going to get paid, but I figure I'll gain experience, contacts, and maybe some decent shots.

Last Saturday was Scott Kelby's World Wide Photowalk.
It was okay, I still have the same issues I had with it last year. It has nothing to do with Scott Kelby or his project, but everything to do with with the locals here. I could wax on about other depressing things, but I won't for fear for boring you all.

Any-who the pictures above are the ones I decided to enter into the contest.
The first is of a Friday's build into the Aquarium, and the second photo is that of the latter.

(this is where I wish I had a 45mm or 90mm tilt-shift lens! I can totally see this shot being a million times cooler with one :p)

Whats the deal guys? No one has been posting or commenting on anything. Let's step it up a notch and get in the game! I noticed when we first started this community blog each post had like 2 + comments and we where posting way more often, lets start doing that again!

Brithday Cake

50mm - f/1.8 - 1/50sec

Sorry not much to say (I'm leaving to go fishing in like 5mins ago) other than that, this is indeed my birthday cake.
Yeah I know, but honestly this was the only edited photo I have from this past week.

And yes I am missing the watermark so...don't steal it until I get it on there.
Yeah you know who I'm talking about.

Good golly miss molly.

It's late, so I'll keep it brief. This is from a while ago, but I don't have anything recently of any excitement, so it shall do.

Unrelatedly in recent news, I started a Graphic Design class at school on Monday. Had to turn in my first project today, and I thought I might share so as to get some feedback from all you lovely peoples.

The project was to create 3 logos for a service company of our choice (real or fake) and create a Geometric logo (geometric shape based), an Organic logo (more...natural feeling...), and an Abstract logo.

Guess what I found???

I totally forgot that today was my day to post. Oh my :)

The other day I was digging around in our Christmas closet and found this typewriter! I am amazed... it's just so different then what I'm used to. I'm sure I'll be taking lots of photo of it :p

I took it to an abandoned school in my neighborhood to take these shots.

All shots taken with my XTi, 17-50mm and I used my 580 ex II with out the umbrella to camera right.

Sorry for skipping these past few weeks. I don't remember why I missed three weeks ago, but last weeks my grandparents where here, and this week my dad was on vacation.

So yeah I did make up for those tardy weeks though here and here.
