I was going to get my 5d mark II this Wed. but Portland's local camera store is out of stock on them, BH is back ordered so I'm very annoyed about that :/ I'm probably going to have to wait a week, or so.

Last week, I bought my first canon L series lens. I did my home work on the 70-200mm I bought. I ended up getting the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM! It works so well, and it is substantially lighter in weight then the daddy in the 70-200mm family (70-200mm f/2.8 L IS) It is a little shaky at 200mm with out IS, but for $1150 more for the Image Stabilizer feature, I think I'll save my money and just be really steady. This lens handles lens flair really well, and having a constant aperture is really really nice. I have one other lens that is constant aperture and love it! I can't wait to do a real portrait shoot with it, I got it mainly for that reason and to use outdoors.

The Abacus of Fire!

This is an abacus.  It used to help people count before machines did it for them.  Then all the people disappeared, because they couldn't offer anything useful that the machines hadn't already created.

Chary Blossoms!!!

I love when these trees by my house explode with chary blossoms! Their only around for about two weeks, so I've got to get the photos while I can. You can see the ones I took last year on my other blog

Dive Bomb

So, epic fail on my part.  I was in Utah last week for spring break, and it hit me on Saturday that my day had come and gone.  I figured I would do it on Sunday when I got back, and then I got stuck in Atlanta airport for 6 hours and forgot about it again until Tuesday, at which point I figured I had pretty much missed the bus.  Excuses aside, here are several photos from the aforementioned trip last week.

Photo #1 was a panorama I put together from 4 different shots of the view from the top of a mountain I climbed.
